How to be Successful Tip #4 | By Dougles Chan – Qimen Teacher

Today I’m going to ask you to be very focused on doing something whereby you should not change your mind. Do you know that there’s a group of people that have always changed their minds very often? That means this week I want to do this particular project. A few months later, I want to change to another project. And then they see a certain interesting trend whereby the opportunity is so good, they want to go ahead and launch another project. This is called “flip-flopping,” whereby you do not focus on one thing so much that you do not see the result, and because of that, you actually think that the other offer, the other opportunity, is going to be better, and you change your mind. Maybe it’s not because of the opportunity. Maybe you think that this particular thing that you’re involved in may not be so good. So you keep changing here and there, so much so that your resources and your time will always keep rotating here and there and it will not end. This is what we call a “flip-flop” and in terms of this, under Qi Men Dun Jia, it’s called a “destroyer,” which means that you’re always destroying things whereby you created them, may be daily. It may be weekly, it can be monthly, it can be yearly depending on the mood of the person so if you have such kind of character I would strongly urge you not to engage in such kind of activity.

It’s not going to be easy, but at the end of the day, you set a timeline. For example, you set a date of two or three years when you’ll focus all your time on this particular project or business, and you make sure that you put in all your effort and resources to make it work, and if it doesn’t work, then you can change. What I can tell you is that you will not be successful because if you are not able to focus on one project all the time, at one time, then eventually your energy, your resources, and your focus will not be focused and your result will usually not be very fantastic. So, focus on something and do not change. I wish you the best!
