+Hey Louis Rossmann let those dumb asses pay those 150 or 400 or even 700$ for repair in those 1700$ machines if they rather do it don"t bother yourself with those dumb coments! they don"t understand that these companies market is seling you a new machine, not repairing the broken one! generally that"s the policy, repairing demands and labour hours only alowed in waranties. DUMB SHIPS! folowing trends and emptying there own pockets for someone elses profit!

  4. February 7, 2017 at 9:09 am —

I know this is probably a retarded question but what is the liquid he puts on the board as he de-solders the components?

You are my absolute favorite person right now. Because of you i saved over 1200$ in repairs. Because of you I proudly switched to an android based device. Because of you I stick my middle finger to apple. the most money grubbing/ rip off company out there.

I was almost going to sub to your channel till you opened your mouth and said SODDER, damn it why do yanks pronounce it wrong geez, it is "s o L d e r" or soLder oh well good video you are very much a pro at these repairs from what I have seen in this video only….

  10. February 7, 2017 at 9:09 am —

Louis, loved watching these videos of yours and totally agree with your approach. My favorite "authorized" repair comments are, "let's reformat the hard disk" and "your hard disk has failed" without having tested to see what is actually wrong; but as they're authorized, they must be right, so lets pay them loads of money and let's get rid of our data.
Keep up the good work, and the videos

Man, I'm so glad I came across your channel! I'm an engineering graduate and I'd love to meet you in person. personally I feel, that electronics industry needs to reuse and repair, rather than getting a new one.
And this video is hilarious ! 😀
    Cheers mate !

"….. and then I compare it to the fucked one"

  13. February 7, 2017 at 9:09 am —

    the fuck! your a boss!

  14. February 7, 2017 at 9:09 am —

Where do you get the boardview software and the schematic?

  15. February 7, 2017 at 9:09 am —

Complete rookie here, I discovered your channel couple days ago and i'm really not familiar to all this and I shouldn't even start from there but I enjoy every single of your moves nonetheless.
Anyways, wondering couple things: do you even bother cleaning all the dust and hair that we can see on the microscope in every of your videos? is it worth it? What do you pour on the board at 5:30 ? What does it do?
    Cheers !

  16. February 7, 2017 at 9:09 am —

    thank you. just thank you.

  17. February 7, 2017 at 9:09 am —

Love the videos! Why is there 800+ people that dislike this? like are you fucking dumb?

  18. February 7, 2017 at 9:09 am —

  19. February 7, 2017 at 9:09 am —

what ever people says. you are doing a great job. only professional understand you and your pain.

  20. February 7, 2017 at 9:09 am —

Too bad I don't live in NYC, otherwise I'd trusted you to replace the cracked screen of my Macbook Air.

  21. February 7, 2017 at 9:09 am —

Shouldn't apple being all carbon neutral and ethical be in a conflict of interest with their standpoint on wasting PCB's?

  22. February 7, 2017 at 9:09 am —

You rule dude. Dont believe the hater. Use your engineering brain. I've got the same !@$$ with consumer electronics. With the coming of smd people got dumbed out. Dumb get you to be a moneycow.

  23. February 7, 2017 at 9:09 am —

What is with apple and these companies not able to keep your data? WHY NOT? I heard someone sent in a razer blade 14 under warranty which needed the trackpad replaced. they replaced the trackpad and keyboard and sent the device back to the person with a DATA WIPE! AHHH! I fail to understand the thought process behind needing to wipe someones data for every repair. It is time wasted. Id love to directly ask these people that are doing the repairs, in person, why this is necessary and see what they have to say.

I've been an authorized repair technician for several different brands. Same story with all of them. Swap the board &/or other parts, ship the broken stuff off to some country where they make US minimum wage in a week to refurbish those boards when possible to send them out to future repairs with the rest getting thrown in a dumpster where someone else might harvest parts from it to sell online.
