You must learn how to sell, whether or not you are a good salesperson. It doesn’t matter. You need to present yourself. You need to give people the idea of this particular product or service, or anything that you want to relate to. It’s a matter of transferring information to the other party so that the other party is able to be convinced. It’s as simple as that.
The word “sell” sometimes for certain people, it’s actually going to be very scary because “I don’t like to be sold, I don’t like to sell people, I don’t need to sell to any other people, and I don’t need to be sold”. The thing about selling is that it’s a matter of transferring information from one party to another party. From there, they are able to understand what you say, believe what you say, and maybe even buy from you. That’s the whole process of selling.
Some people say that “I’m not good at selling. I don’t know how to sell”. The question I ask you is, have you gone to any interviews whereby people ask you a certain question and then you answer it? People ask you what kind of job you have, what kind of experience you have, and what is so good about you. You are selling in every interview. You are actually presenting yourself and you are selling to them to tell them that “Hey, I’m good. Please hire me. Please give me a job”. You are selling it. So, it’s a matter of what kind of representation you want to use to transform the information for the other party.
